A lot has happened since I wrote last. Some highlights include:

  • Zone Conference. All of the missionaries in the city of Salta had a day of meetings and trainings on how to better missionaries using goals and plans. It was fun to see a lot of missionaries I hadn’t seen in a long time, including my companion from the MTC, Elder Bullen, who I hadn’t seen in over a year.
  • We had the opportunity to worship in the temple last week. Missionaries assigned to the city of Salta can attend once a quarter, so Elder Hughes and I met up with my cousin, Elder Kinghorn, and his companion at the temple grounds.
  • This is Locro. Everyone eats it on patriotic holidays, like May 1st (labor day), because it’s what the army ate at the battle when Argentina won its independence. It’s a stew made out of all the meat scraps: intestines, skin, hooves, etc. I was trying my best to get a healthy scoop of vegetables in whenever I had to take a bite of hairy pig skin 🤢.
  • Lastly, for those who care, I was re-admitted to West Point last week! I finish my mission on June 24th and I’ll be back in New York at the start of August.

Despite the occasionally weird food, I’m having an awesome time here. I’ve grown so much closer to the Savior through serving the people of Argentina. I’m grateful for the time that I still have left to be able to help people grow closer to Jesus Christ.
