It’s been a long (almost) two weeks. The way our schedule worked out, we had a preparation day on our first Saturday, two days later on Monday, and then no break for 11 days. It wasn’t actually too bad, but we’ve all been looking foward to today and opportunity to talk to our families.
My best friend from West Point, Caleb Watson, got here last week. Our schedules are totally different, but somehow we still bump into each other at least once a day. I live in a house with Sam Furhriman, whose dad is the bishop of the ward at West Point. We all did our mission preparation class together, so it’s fun to all be here together.
My Spanish is coming along well enough. It’s a litte difficult to stay motivated because Mexican Spanish and Argentine Spanish are so different. Everything I can learn here will help, but I know there will still be a couple of months of feeling completely lost in the language.
Overall life is decent here. My biggest complaint outside of normal people problems is that there’s a dumptruck that almost without fail starts up and idles right on the other side of the CCM’s wall for about 30 minutes right as we’re going to bed. I’m excited to actually get to Argentina, but I’ve still got 3 more weeks of learning here, so I can’t get too carried away.
If anyone wants to email me, my email for my mission is hansen.warren@missionary.org.
I hope everyone is doing well. Have a great week.
