I’ve just been getting into the groove of life here in Argentina. Elder Gibbs and I are getting settled into this area and are starting to be able to use our days more effectively than at first.

A normal day in my mission is as follows:

  • 7:00 – Wake up, exercise, eat breakfast, prepare for the day
  • 8:30 – Planning lessons and visits for the day
  • 9:00 – Personal gospel study
  • 10:00 – Calls and texts to confirm teaching appointments
  • 10:30 – Walking to lessons, teaching lessons, and practicing Spanish while we walk
  • 1:00 – Almuerzo (lunch). Almuerzo is the main meal of the day here and members have us over pretty much every day.
  • 2:30 – Companionship and language study. Because everyone here sleeps during the afternoon, called Siesta, we study Spanish and practice teaching lessons for a couple hours. It also has the great perk of keeping us out of the 100+ degree heat.
  • 4:30 – Back to walking around, teaching lessons. I think we walk around 7 or 8 miles each day.
  • 9:00 – Back in our apartment, making phonecalls to the people we’re teaching and other missionaries.
  • 10:00 – Mission-wide Zoom call for a prayer.
  • 10:15 – Eating a late dinner and getting ready for bed.
  • 11:00 – In bed, ready to do it again the next day.

It’s a pretty exhausting schedule, but we get a lot of work done and have a lot of fun while doing it. Thank you for all of  your love and support. Have a great week and know that Jesus loves you.

– Elder Hansen

Elder Gibbs and I have been cooking a lot this week. We’ve made granola, barbaque chicken salad, and chicken parm.

Of course, cooking a meal makes a lot of dishes. We’ve definitely pushed our 11pm curfew doing dishes a couple of nights.
One of the elders passing through for the day decided that I needed a haircut. I got a real haricut today.
