¡Feliz Navidad!

It’s very hot here and there is no snow, although from what I hear, it’s hot and there is also no snow in Idaho, so I’m not missing much. Here, Christmas is celebrated the night of Christmas Eve with a large party that typically starts around 11 or so. Our curfew got extended until 10 last night so that we could “party” a little bit. We were at a member’s house just long enough for me to eat some pizza and break a glass. When I went to bed around 11, the neighbors were just starting their party. When I woke up at 7, they were still partying.

Normally we don’t eat lunch with members on Monday, but we got invited to eat a pig and a goat with a family today, so we couldn’t turn it down. On our way, a very drunk man stopped us in the street to argue with us about how drunkenness isn’t a sin. Ironically, he couldn’t form coherent enough words for us to understand his argument. Lunch was great though.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to be serving the Lord this Christmas and for the relationship that I am developing with my Savior through the trials of my mission. I know that Jesus Christ suffered and died so that every person on the earth can and will be saved if they turn to him.

Enjoy the rest of the Holidays and know that Jesus loves you,

Christmas Eve Sunday services.
Lunch on Christmas. The “Italian Hand” gesture is big here. I couldn’t pass up the photo op.
For a service project this week, we moved dirt so a member could extend the foundation of his house.
