This is Jenny. We haven’t heard from Warren yet, but we’re checking the mail box every day. West Point has a very active social media presence, and we’ve been lucky enough to find Warren in a few pictures featured this week. The cadet parents all say that these weeks of Cadet Basic Training is a little like playing Where’s Waldo because the cadets all have shaved heads and they all wear the same uniforms. So, we got lucky.
One Tuesday a friend shared this screen shot from the West Point Instagram stories. They were showing highlights from the cadets arriving on campus.
Later in the week, I was browsing through the West Point Flickr account, and we got these fun shots. He’s clearly not miserable.
Monday evening, the first day of summer training, there was a ceremony for these new cadets to swear their military oath. The parade and ceremony were streamed on YouTube, and here’s the link, if anyone is interested. The whole thing runs a little less than 30 minutes. We can’t help but think that Warren was loving every second of it. And $5 goes to anyone who spots Warren in the crowd.
I also had a brief email conversation with the branch president of the Hudson Valley YSA Branch, concerning Warren’s church records being transferred. I did a quick google search to learn more about the President Ellett, and I thought you all might enjoy knowing a little more about this amazing man! Here’s the link to his West Point bio.
As soon as we hear from Warren himself, I will post his update. Until then, I feel really good about where he’s at and what he’s doing. As the experienced West Point moms say, during CBT no news is great news.
